I was so thrilled when Marvin came to me and asked me to photograph such a special moment in his life with his beautiful girlfriend, Alycia. Marvin and Alycia met at a mutual friend’s birthday party and didn’t think much of it, but quickly crossed paths again when they were paired up to walk down the aisle together at their friend’s wedding. Marvin spotted Alycia’s smile from across the room and couldn’t resist asking her out on a date. They went to an Avalanche game followed by dinner at TGI Fridays for their first date and the spark continued to grow as they continued dating. They started attending church together and their bond became stronger. Marvin knew in his heart that Alycia was “the one” and prayed to God for guidance. He got the answer he knew he would and was ready to pop the question! Marvin says, “I knew she was the one when she was the first thing I thought about and the last thing I thought about and the only thing I dreamed about.” One thing is for certain, they were both madly in love. Alycia’s birthday was on Friday and Marvin told her they were having couple’s photos taken for the special occasion the next day. They arrived at Chautauqua park and were dressed to impress despite the sub-zero temperature after being hit by the first big snow storm of the winter. We started taking pictures – Alycia had no idea that Marvin was hiding her engagement ring behind his back.
