As a Colorado wedding photographer, 2018 was an excellent year. This is a collection of some of my favorite moments throughout the last 52 weeks / 365 days!
A lot can happen in 365 days, and as far as 2018 went that definitely holds true. This year has honestly been one of the most defining years of what I have been building my life up to + what I want it to look like moving forward.
Here is a condensed highlight of all of the magic that this year held:
- I photographed 64 (h o l y s * * t) incredible couples for their Colorado elopement / Colorado wedding
- I drove at least approximately one billion (give or take) miles all across the beautiful state of Colorado and ventured across so many different mountain tops.
- Brayden and I traveled together to California 3 times. We also switched up our scenery from our usual trips to Rocky Mountain National Park and road tripped it out to Montana and visited Yellowstone National Park.
- I went to Nashville, Tennessee to learn from one of the ‘greats’ in the wedding photography industry : Robert J Hill
- Both my mama and my best friend married their soulmates this year and Brayden and I got to be a part of the weddings.
- A select few of the Colorado Weddings I photographed were published in Wedding Chicks, The Knot, Martha Stewart Weddings, JLM Couture, Hayley Paige’s website, and Couture Colorado
- *THIS IS THE BIG ONE* In May of 2018 I left my corporate job of almost 7 years to pursue my dream of being a full-time Colorado Wedding Photographer and I haven’t and won’t ever look back. Onward and upward!
I honestly have to pinch myself often, because even now 7 months later it still doesn’t feel real that photography has become the thing that I get to do full-time. The thing that I get to call my job, my career, my everything. I love when people ask me what I do for work and I get to say “I’m self employed!”. No more side hustling, no more weekend warrioring. This is it and this is my all.
I am so thankful to all of the other Colorado Wedding Professionals I have worked with, but most of all I’m thankful to all of the amazing couples that chose to have me as their Colorado wedding photographer and Colorado Elopement Photographer! It’s hard to even express how truly thankful I am for each and every human being that trusted me to document such important moments in their lives. I love all of the friendships I made along the way, all of the funny laughs I had with wedding parties, all of the incredibly sweet vows I was a witness too, all of the big family wrangling, all of the bad dance moves and belting out the wrong words to songs while I shimmied my way through dance floors. These images wouldn’t even be possible without my amazing couples and the awesome human beings that make up their tribes!
In this post you’ll find some of my favorites from 2018. Personal photos, Colorado wedding and elopement photos, moments that still make me tear up. I hope you enjoy and I can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store!
