Autumn and Erik drove out from Oklahoma for their Chautauqua Park Elopement in Boulder Colorado! After crossing paths at a friend’s wedding and getting together to watch American Horror Story they fell in love! Colorado’s beautiful backdrop was the perfect place for them to exchange vows and become husband and wife. Living in Erie, Boulder is basically directly in my backyard so I love when couples find when when they’re searching for their Boulder Colorado Elopement photographer and choose me to document their special moments.
I have photographed many Chautauqua Park Elopements, but typically the elopement takes place on the Chautauqua Park lawn, or at the dining hall. However, this epic Colorado elopement location allows for elopements with less than 8 people to take place on the actual trail. I have photographed many engagement sessions and couple’s portraits on the trail, but this was the first time I was able to photograph a ceremony there and it was magical.
Autumn and Erik exchanged their vows just as the sun was hitting the ridge of the mountains and the light was absolutely magical. I’m so lucky to have connected with these two and can’t wait to venture out to Oklahoma to photograph their family with their pet pig, Petunia!
P.S. scroll down to the bottom of this post for some adorable photos that their oldest son took with my camera. So sweet!

Autumn and Erik’s older son, Derrik was woken up from a car nap (those of you that are parents know that kids usually find this unacceptable!) so he wasn’t feeling it being in front of my camera. So, I decided to hand him one of my spare camera bodies and let him make some little magic of his own. Maybe he will grow up to be a photographer, because these aren’t too shabby!
