Regan and Alex’s snowy Colorado winter elopement at Sapphire Point in Dillon was truly the ‘cherry on top’ of my 2020 wedding and elopement season! I can’t think of a more perfect way to have ended my working year than with these two for their simple and sweet self solemnizing elopement with the beautiful rocky mountains and Dillon Reservoir as their backdrop!
A snowstorm had rolled through the Breckenridge area the day prior to their elopement so there was a fresh blanket of snow on the ground and the mountain peaks and a sunny bluebird sky to show it all off. There’s nothing like a little breeze blowing snow off of the trees around you and having it look like glitter is flying through the air around you from the sun hitting it to make a day feel extra magical. I just love it when Colorado shows off how beautiful it is, but it’s especially wonderful when days like this happen for couples that have planned their destination elopement from afar.
After sharing their vows with each other and sealing it with a kiss, they popped some bubbly that was gifted to them by their close friends to celebrate! Then, we did a (slippery, but so worth it) snow hike around the Sapphire Point loop and found the perfect sun-soaked outcropping along the hiking trail for the two of them to share their first dance as husband and wife. It was the perfect day!
