Annette + Peter’s Devils Thumb Ranch wedding in Tabernash / Grand County Colorado was a true display that Mother Nature does her own thing and if you want to get married here you have to be ready to roll with it. Thankfully, these two 100% were and their day ended up being epic beyond epic. Their beautiful mid-summer wedding started off full of sunshine and not a cloud in the sky. These two eagerly got ready in their separate areas of the Devils Thumb Ranch property while they prepared to marry each other after years of becoming best friends, falling in love and beginning their relationship together. Moments before the ceremony was supposed to begin a big ol’ ominous cloud rolled in, followed by thunder, lightning and the monsooniest rain storm that happened all summer long. The florals, seating and entire ceremony area were absolutely drenched. Thankfully, the rockstar team at the venue wiped down the seats, the rain held off and the ceremony began. The florals looked so lush + green covered in little water droplets and it was even more beautiful than before! The ceremony started off with nice, cloudy light and then mid-way through exchanging their vows the sun broke through and I swear it shone directly on just the two of them. Truly, it was beautiful. They exchanged their vows and then shared communion together before sealing their marriage with a kiss! Thankfully, the rain stayed away for the rest of the evening and we were able to take some beautiful portraits around the Devils Thumb Ranch property!
Their reception was jaw-dropping. I mean, I expect nothing less when working with incredible planners like Abbi with Purple Summer events and Emma Lea Floral but h o l y s t a r s it was epic. For this part I can obviously let the photos speak for themselves since writing is not my thing (holla for choosing the right profession!). Hope you enjoy 😉
