Jen + Larry | Boone Hall Plantation Wedding Photographer in South Carolina

Have you ever seen the Notebook? Do you know of the house that Noah builds for Ali in the movie? Well, that house is actually a real place in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina called Boone Hall Plantation. And when your best friend asks you to second shoot a wedding there you die six times, rise from the dead to scream yes, then die again. That’s basically how the process happened; mostly.

I had the pleasure of jumping on an airplane with Brittany (Alchemy Creative) and heading out to Charleston, South Carolina to photograph Jen + Larry’s charming wedding at Boone Hall Plantation in September. I had had permanent heart eyes over all of the southern architecture, spanish moss trees, newts (little green lizard creature things!), chicken + waffles, and most importantly Jen, Larry and their absolutely incredible wedding.

Jen + Larry had a goose bump worthy first look. Jen pulled up in an awesome VW bus and met Larry under a tree filled with Spanish Moss. Epic doesn’t even begin to describe how perfect it was. Their ceremony was on a dock over-looking an ocean harbor and because of the full moon and the rising tide their guests got to dance the night away in actual ocean water that rose up through the patio of the dance floor. I always tell brides that a dirty dress is the sign of a good time. I love that Jen didn’t even blink an eye before hitting the dance floor and spinning the night away, barefoot, dancing in ocean water with all of her family and friends. That’s how you do your wedding the right way!
