Kristina is such a stunning bride and their Catholic/Filipino Colorado Wedding was such an honor to photograph. I had such a blast teaming up with the incredible hair and makeup artist and fellow photographer Brittany Slaughter to capture such a gorgeous wedding ceremony!
It is so lovely to me when couples use their roots and celebrate traditional symbols of marriage during their wedding ceremony, it truly makes the day unique. Kristina, the bride, has a filipino background and during their Catholic wedding ceremony they partook in both the veil tradition; where after the couple has exchanged rings and their first kiss as husband and wife they kneel side by side, then Kristina’s veil was draped over the groom’s shoulders. This signifies that they are dressed for the world as one. The bride’s parents also took a white silk cord, known as a yugal, and placed it over Kristina and Jerry’s shoulders in the sign of infinity. This symbolizes everlasting fidelity and signifies that the bride and groom will walk the world as equals! Both of these moments during their ceremony were so beautiful and unique to who Kristina and Jerry are as a couple!
