Caity and Daniel’s Moss Denver Wedding with a beautiful Catholic Ceremony at Holy Ghost Church was not only incredible to document, but to be a part of as well. The bride, Caity, and I go all the way back to Summer camp in elementary school. Not only did I get to stand alongside her as her maid of honor on their wedding day, but my son was their ring bearer. My entire wedding photography and videography team was there to document it all – including me! Let me tell you, this is the first time I’ve documented a wedding day in full hair and makeup and a bridesmaids dress, but it was an absolute blast!
The wedding day began at The Brown Palace in downtown Denver, Colorado! After the bride and groom got ready at the hotel they did a first look in the lobby. Then, everyone headed over to the Holy Ghost Church for their beautiful Catholic wedding ceremony! This church in the heart of Denver is one of my favorite places to document catholic weddings because it is absolutely beautiful! When the ceremony ended and we finished taking family photos, Caity and Daniel and the entire wedding party explored nearby areas of Denver for photos at the Byron White United States Court House.
When photo time was finished up everyone took a little break for lunch (and maybe a quick power nap, too!) before heading to Moss Denver for their wedding reception celebration. My jaw dropped so far when I entered their reception at Moss that I’m surprised it didn’t hit the actual floor. Caity chose such a vibrant and fun color palette for her wedding day details, rainbow! The cocktail hour space and the wedding reception space was filled with family style tables decorated with fabric runners, flowers, place settings and glassware with each individual shade of the rainbow. The real show stopper (aside from the stunning bride and her handsome groom, of course) was the sweetheart table, which was emphasized by a large circular floral chandelier with the full spectrum of the rainbow. It was absolutely breathtaking!
Since Caity and Daniel’s wedding day happened amidst the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic they had to do some downsizing of their guest list to accommodate gathering size limitations. In order to incorporate the people that could not attend their DJ set up live zoom calls throughout the reception where guests could interact with people who couldn’t attend in person. It was such a wholesome way to bring everyone together in a time where gathering in person wasn’t as much of a possibility.
Bubbly was popped, drinks were had and so much love surrounded these two on the wedding day that was planned during such a difficult time in the world. After mingling with their friends and family, both in person and virtually, the bride and groom were toasted by the bride’s father, the best man and the maid of honor (that was me!) before heading to the dance floor for their first dance, father daughter dance and mother son dance. Their guests even got to hit the dance floor too! Socially distanced and with masks of course ;).
The day may have been filled with elbow bumps over hugs and super sanitized love, but it was still as wonderful as ever and it was an absolute honor to both document and be a part of!
