I had the pleasure of working with a good friend and her new business, The Saucy Pear, and being Karen and Bradley’s engagement photographer in a beautiful little spot tucked in a blissful little pocket off the grid between Boulder and Nederland Colorado.
As photographer’s we have the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with Colorado’s never ending battle with mother nature. Karen and Bradley’s engagement session was in May, so smack dab in the middle of Spring. We started the engagement session off with perfect weather, calm sunny skies and some gorgeous light, but I’m sure you’ve all heard that saying “April flower’s bring May showers” welp; that it did. The skies opened up and it started pouring shortly after I got started with photographing the beautiful couple and their children along a trail and a river in Boulder, so we got in the car and we drove, hoping that the rain would pass us, or that we would pass the rain, or that it would just stop.
Miraculously, the rain stopped and we ended up pulling off on a dirt road just before we reached Nederland. We rounded the corner, and let me just tell you that location wise I was drooling. We had a beautiful view of the rushing Colorado river, a mossy rock-wall that reached all the way up to to the sky, and a gorgeous view of a mountain side. It couldn’t have been more perfect!
I’ll quit my babbling and show you the photos now. Enjoy. <3
Brad brought along his three children and we included them in some of the images too and got some great family photos!
The bride’s dog, Bee, is definitely a family fur baby! She loved the camera and was included in quite a few engagement photos as well as photos during the bride and groom’s wedding (coming soon to a my blog near you!)
