The Pavilion at The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park Colorado is a new Colorado wedding venue as of 2018. In fact, it wasn’t actually the original venue that Sarah + Nathan had picked for their fall wedding day, but they were one of the first lucky couples that had the opportunity to have their wedding there. During the early summer months of 2018 there was a fire at their original wedding venue (Mary’s Lake Lodge in Estes Park Colorado) and The Pavilion at the Stanley Hotel was able to finish up construction and get their space ready in time to rescue the days of multiple couples that lost their wedding venue due to the fire.
Honestly, part of why my job is literally the best job is because of my clients. When I first started my journey of honing in on “who is my ideal client” and “what do they love” I originally started listing things about what their wedding day looked like, where they were getting married, what they were going to wear, etc. I quickly learned that that has little to do with anything. Like seriously the most tiniest fraction of an amount of my ideal client has anything to do with the details of their actual wedding day. My clients hire me because of who they am in their core and who I am in mine. I always describe myself as the most Type A Type B you will ever meet, because I’m super laid back and go with the flow, but all of that casualness is backed by some seriously hardcore spreadsheets, to do lists and calendar events. If all of my systems are in place and create a well oiled machine it’s so easy to just let lose and have a blast! Fortunately, my clients are the same way and Sarah + Nathan are the perfect example of that. I mean, come on, their wedding venue burned to the ground in one of the top 10 wedding locations in the United States just months before they were supposed to be married and they barely blinked. The Pavilion at the Stanley Hotel swooped in and saved the day and what mattered the most to them was that 1) they got married that day and 2) it was to each other. That’s what mattered. The venue was just a shell, the shell went away, they found a new shell and they moved forward as if nothing had happened. Literal unicorn stress-free human beings. Love them to pieces.
Aside from The Pavilion at the Stanley Hotel being the most gorgeous and perfect space for a wedding Mother Nature came through that day too. It was a super drizzly day, but not too drizzly to play outside for a bit and before the night was over we got one of the first heavy rain and snow falls of the season which made for some of the cooooolest night portraits I’ve ever gotten the opportunity to take. SO much fun!
These Colorado views are simply incredible. What a great backdrop for their wedding day. The couple seems like they were so fun to work with. Adore their reactions in the reception photos!
