Every Monday should start off with a lovely California couple (that’s Ashley + Rodrigo) emailing you and asking you to be their Rocky Mountain National Park Elopement Photographer for the following weekend. I had to pinch myself about 16 times when Ashley reached out, because not only were they planning to elope in my most favorite spot in Colorado, they were also asking for all of my favorite vendor recommendations for things like hair + flowers so I knew from the get go that the day was going to be extra dreamy; and it so was.
Ashley + Rodrigo flew in for their Colorado elopement just a couple of days prior from a sunny 80º+ degree California. Colorado weather can be totally unpredictable, but Ashley + Rodrigo were totally prepared and up for the adventure. They even had matching Patagonia vests that they were hoping to wear if the weather allowed! I headed up to the mountains before the sun the morning of their elopement and drove through some seriously intense fog. I arrived at their elopement spot and watched the heavy storm clouds roll in, followed by rain, then hail, then snow. The weather was so intense that everyone hid away in their cars (while I ran around the mountain taking epic weather photos like an insane person) and contemplated whether or not to move the ceremony. Right before they were about to call it, the skies broke and the sun came out. It was still raining, but just barely, and Ashley + Rodrigo were able to move forward with their dream elopement.
Rather than have everyone standing across from the bride and groom they all formed a circle. Ashley shared one of her favorite passages about love, the two of them shared a sip of wine and their personal vows and were married! After sharing their first kiss as husband + wife the two of them went around the circle and each gave every single person that attended their elopement a hug. We spent some time taking group and family portraits and then Ashley, Rodrigo and I spent the next few hours adventuring through Rocky Mountain National Park and taking couples photos!
Truly an incredible day!

So jealous of those amazing mountain views you you Rocky mountain photographers get. I’d love to come out there one day. This was a beautiful elopement you captured. Such a daring couple to climb on all those rocks.
yes yes yes! please come visit, jason!
This is just stunning. We have never seen a wedding like this before. You truly captured all the details perfectly. We are sure that the couple was thrilled!
Wow what a stunning place for an intimate wedding, Rocky Mountain national Park is simply beautiful, I love the brides dress and all the gorgeous yellow pops throughout the landscape.
So glad you were able to get the elopement in before the new rules. PLUS with the changing leaves. Love love love it!
Thankfully, new rules or not this elopement would still be alright! They got their permit for upper beaver meadows, which is on the approved list for 2018! They didn’t exchange vows in any of our other photo locations and I have the annual permit to frolic about the park. Super bummed about not being able to do elopements on trail ridge road anymore, though :(.
Seriously amazing. I love their style so much! Colorado never ceases to be beautiful, right? Why not have a small, intimate elopement with your closest and dearest? Sharee, you are a phenomenal photographer, it’s no surprise they chose you and I bet they are head-over-heels happy with these!
It was totally worth it for them to fly out to Colorado just for the amazing photos alone! What a stunning Rocky Mountain National Park elopement.
Well, this strikes a chord!! I want to elope in Ireland, but if I were looking for a Colorado elopement photographer, you’d be my very first choice!!
I would gladly be your Ireland elopement photographer ;).
