When I rolled up and the first thing I saw was a double rainbow I knew that Dawn and David’s Boulder Colorado Mountain Elopement was going to be great – and it sure was! Flagstaff Mountain in Boulder has become quite the elopement hot spot, especially for couples having destination elopements in Colorado. It’s not too far from the airport, it’s close to the charming downtown Boulder area, there are so many great COVID-approved outdoor activities and places to explore nearby and most importantly it has epic views of the Rocky Mountains!
For Dawn and David’s elopement they wanted something intimate, they wanted great views and they weren’t afraid to hike a little bit. A lot of the more popular places to elope on Flagstaff mountain can get a little bit crowded, especially with so many people leaning in to outdoor activities during the pandemic, so after exploring some hiking trails we found the perfect little spot with epic mountain views for their elopement ceremony. This perfect rock outcrop has views just as epic as Lost Gulch, but not a single soul hiked along the the trail so their elopement was intimate and private, which is exactly what they wanted!
Between wildfires burning across Colorado and a crazy weather forecast the week they eloped we all kept our fingers crossed and hoped the mountains would be visible for this special day. We lucked out with that double rainbow, but things just got better when the rain quickly pushed out and Mother Nature gave us a beautiful colorful Colorado sunset as they exchanged their vows!
