Phillip + Alisha | Double A Barn Wedding Photos | Grand Lake, Colorado
Stunning DIY details, the most gorgeous fall weather Colorado had to offer, an outpouring of love and support from friends and family, and a freakin’ rainbow. That’s the kind of magic that jumbled together to make Alisha + Phil’s wedding day as incredible as could be.
To get ready before the wedding, the bride and groom rented a gorgeous VRBO in Grand Lake Colorado called The Grand Lake Chalet. They got married in the middle of September so fall was in full swing and the colors were seriously dreamy and made for the perfect backdrop at both the getting ready location and the ceremony + reception location (Double A Barn in Grand Lake, Colorado)
Even though you can’t even tell because everything was so dang perfect, 90% of this wedding was DIY. Aside from the venue, the food truck and a few rentals of tables and chairs the bride, groom and their families DIYed all of the other details.
Let me tell you guys, Alisha didn’t even see her venue before her wedding day. She used the internet and ‘blueprints’ to design her dream wedding with the help of Pinterest. She took standard old picnic tables and turned them in to incredible family style seating with lace table runners and mix and match vintage wedding plates, there were candles, flowers, vases, and more decorating both of the long tables running through the reception.
The mother of the bride is also a florist and made the most stunning bouquet and decorated the dessert station with gorgeous flowers too. And lets talk about that dessert station: YUM. An Oreo groom cake, a sweetheart cutting cake and so many other delicious sweets.
I love that we got to many opportunities to sneak around this beautiful property and take couples portraits and that mother nature gave us a huge rainbow that we could see from edge to edge. You really couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day.
Back story: I actually met Alisha + Phillip 7 years ago when I photographed my first wedding for Heather and Kyle. It was crazy awesome to re-connect with all of their family members and to see just how much my work has changed and grown.
