Gold Hill Inn Wedding in Boulder Colorado | Claire + Alex

Claire and Alex’s June wedding celebration at The Gold Hill Inn in Boulder Colorado was long awaited after their pandemic engagement and the arrival of their sweet daughter. It might have been two years in the making, but it was so worth the wait!

After the bride finished having her hair and makeup done in downtown Boulder, the couple headed to the Bluebird Lodge to get ready for their wedding ceremony. The Bluebird lodge is located next door to Gold Hill Inn and is a gorgeous historic hotel, built in 1872. Each of the 9 rooms at the lodge has charming vintage decor and wallpaper, which fit perfectly with the simple and sweet charming vibe of their overall wedding experience and decor.

The wedding ceremony took place in the Beer Garden at Gold Hill Inn. Their florist built a gorgeous ground floral arch to decorate the ceremony space. Ground floral arches are a popular 2023 wedding trend, so I hope to see more of these this wedding season! The ceremony was officiated by the bride and groom’s friend, Juan. He is the person that introduced the two of them, so having him there to officiate their ceremony was so special!

After the wedding ceremony it was time for photos with their family members. After taking photos with their family members, we headed up the road to take couple’s portraits of the bride and groom with a beautiful view of the Rocky Mountains! Storm clouds were rolling in, but the rain held off until right before their reception began inside of the cozy Gold Hill Inn.

The wedding reception was beautifully decorated with floral centerpieces and table numbers that resembled the hiking trails that the bride and groom enjoy exploring together. They also had a donut wall, which is always a fun wedding dessert idea! After they finished dinner, the couple was serenaded by the live bluegrass band for their first dance and some open dancing with their guests.

When the rain stopped and the sun came back out everyone headed back to the Beer Garden to keep the party going! Their live wedding band even played a folky version of Hava Nagila for their hora dance, and it is one of my favorite renditions of the song I have heard! The couple spent the rest of the evening dancing with, laughing with and hanging out with their guests outside before we wrapped things up with some sunset portraits around the Gold Hill Inn and Bluebird Lodge properties. It was such a wonderful wedding day for these two and it was an honor to photograph it for them!
