Heidi and Christopher met like you see it in the movies. They bumped in to each other by happenstance and as strangers, hit it off, but didn’t end up exchanging numbers and just so happened to run in to each other again just weeks later. In a city filled with almost 700,000 people (Denver) that doesn’t happen all too often.
In the bride’s words – here is their meet-cute: “Christopher and I met by happenstance at a bicycle cafe. You ride your bike in and grab a beer with friends. It was a June evening, and I was waiting for my friend to arrive, when this guy rode up on a stunning vintage road bike. When he sat down next to me at our empty picnic table, we struck up a conversation about bikes, the outdoors and all things life. When my friend arrived, we left and I didn’t think anything of it. What I hadn’t known that first evening we met was that it had been Christopher’s birthday, AND…he had spent the rest of his evening kicking himself for not asking for my number. 10 days later Christopher and I ran into each other again at an ice cream shop on the opposite side of town. We had an “oh hey, what are the odds?” moment, but this time…Christopher gave me his phone number. After almost a month of back-and-forth texting and schedule arranging we had our first date, but at that point I had just 5 weeks before I was leaving the country for 2 months of world traveling. We spent a great deal of time together, not knowing what would happen when I left, and we casually said that we would keep in touch. In the end, we Skyped almost every other day while I was gone. It was an amazing way to get to know someone – being 5,000 miles apart. When I came home, it felt as though I had never left, and I think from that point on my home was in Christopher’s arms.”
Don’t worry if you’re crying, I’ve cried at least 11 times while editing their wedding and reminiscing on their adorable love story.
After spending some time planning a big Colorado wedding, Heidi and Christopher quickly realized that something more intimate and personal to them was what their hearts really desired. They chose to forego their big wedding and instead had an intimate Colorado wedding filled with personal touches that will make your heart flutter. They chose to share their first look at their favorite over-look and a trail they sometimes bike together, Lookout Mountain. They exchanged vows at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and had an intimate reception at their favorite local Denver restaurant, Cholon. They day was so intimate, love-filled and personal to these two. It could not have been a more perfect intimate Colorado Wedding!
