Live Streaming Services in Colorado for your Wedding or Elopement

Even with gathering restrictions from COVID-19 lifting we haven’t quite returned to our ‘new normal’ and several couples are looking in to live streaming services in Colorado for their wedding or elopement. Whether you’re interested in live streaming your wedding or elopement day for guests that can’t attend because of the pandemic or you’re simply considering it as an option because of guest’s distance, age, traveling costs, inability to travel or just sheer convenience I’ve put together this resource of local options and things to consider when it comes to live streaming your big day!

DIY Live Streaming Options for your Wedding or Elopement

Let’s face it – weddings and elopements can get expensive. A lot of couples looking in to live streaming their wedding or elopement day, especially couples that have been in the throes of wedding and elopement planning during a pandemic, didn’t necessarily factor in the cost of live streaming their special day when they were crunching numbers for the budget. You still deserve to have everyone you love witness your big day whether it be in person or virtually, even if you don’t have – or just don’t want to allocate the funds for – hiring a company to stream it for you.

When you’re considering going the DIY route for live streaming your wedding or elopement make sure you check to make sure your wedding venue or elopement location has a strong enough cell signal for your specific mobile carrier, or WiFi available for live streaming!

Live Streaming your Wedding or Elopement on Zoom!

Zoom has always been popular for things like webinars, virtual meetings for work from home environments and occasionally connecting with friends and family that don’t live nearby. During the COVID-19 pandemic Zoom started being used for more things and in more ways than ever before – including live streaming weddings and elopements.

Live Streaming elopement on Zoom

Sierra and Brent were originally planning a large East Coast wedding, but after postponing because of COVID-19 they decide to elope in Boulder and save the big celebration for a later date when it was safer to gather. They purchased a phone tripod from Amazon so that all of their family, friends and even their dogs back up could attend their event virtually!

Live Streaming your Elopement or Wedding on Facebook Live

Depending on your guest count, Zoom may not be an option with a paid subscription. The downfall is it also requires downloading an extra app on to a phone or computer which can be tricky for folks that are less tech-savvy. Most people nowadays have a Facebook account and Facebook doesn’t have a limit to the number of people that can tune in a Facebook live video so this makes a great option for live streaming weddings or elopements for free when more than 40 people (or 40 devices) will be attending virtually.

The father of the bride was so proud and excited to be responsible for broadcasting Samantha and Evan’s Colorado wedding at St Luke Orthodox Christian Church on to a Facebook Live after they downsized from 150 guests to just their parents and siblings

Live Streaming your Elopement or Wedding using Love Cast

Leave it to an entrepreneur to see a business opportunity during a global pandemic and seize it! (Fun side note: Did you know that the gig economy and companies like Uber, Lyft and Venmo were all created during a recession?) Even when the pandemic is over and gathering size limitations are a thing of the past I think live streaming weddings and elopements is here to stay because there are so many other reasons to do it! This company, Love Cast, created a platform that live streams AND records your wedding or elopement day without the inconvenience of downloading an extra app or program for the viewers (this is especially convenient for folks that may not be as tech savvy – which can commonly be guests that would need to virtually attend an event!)

Does your venue have live streaming capability built in?

This may not end up being a DIY option and your venue may have an additional charge for it, but some wedding and elopement venues that regularly host events or gatherings (churches or music venues, for example) have audio visual equipment built in for live streaming. Check with your venue to see if they have this as a built-in option and you may save yourself some stress of coordinating cell service and iPhone tripods and be able to add this on for a lower cost than hiring an external company. Of course, this option is reserved for weddings in venues because there isn’t any audio visual gear built in to mother nature, but still something to consider!

Professional Live Streaming Services in Colorado

While there are financial perks to going the DIY route for live streaming your Colorado wedding or elopement there are also a few downsides to it. The biggest one being inconvenience. Do you really want to burden yourself, or a friend or family member with being responsible for setting up and keeping tabs on making sure your virtual platform is running smoothly rather than being fully present in your moment? Are you ready to roll with technology hiccups? Do you have a phone/tablet/laptop reliable enough to capture, stream and record your special day? Sometimes it’s best to leave things in a professional’s hands and keep one more thing from being piled on to a plate that’s usually already heaped full of other wedding and elopement planning responsibilities. Here are my favorite local professional live streaming services in Colorado

Tony Cummins – SoundMaster Entertainment

I have worked with SoundMaster Entertainment for several weddings and even attended their virtual karaoke during shelter in place, but they really took it up a level when they started offering live streaming services for weddings. Not only can they live stream your ceremony, but they can even set up interactive stations during your cocktail hour and reception where in person guests can interact with virtual guests!

Jeff Libby with MiHi Entertainment

Jeff and the MiHi Entertainment team are an incredible option for live streaming your elopement or wedding ceremony with high quality camera gear vs. using a mobile device or webcam. They have multiple camera set ups and flexible packages to meet many budgets!

Drake & Co Photo & Video

Drake & Co have been industry colleagues of mine for a long time in both the photography and photo booth space! Their team took it up a level after the 2020 wedding season and started offering live streaming services for big weddings with high quality videography gear!

Ask your other Wedding Vendors if they offer Live Streaming as an Add-On Service!

Oftentimes you may have vendors that offer live streaming your wedding or elopement as an add on service, even if it’s something they don’t offer independently. Several DJ’s, videographers, photographers and wedding planners have the gear and team available to offer this to you on your wedding or elopement day and it may be more cost effective than hiring a company independently!
