Melissa + Keith and their The Pines at Genesee Wedding was dreamier beyond all dreams, but even if they got married in a shed in the middle of a swamp it would still be the perfect day because they are just that incredible of people. Truly and honestly I would be perfectly content if these two just decided to marry each other over and over every single day and let me photograph it.
So, to let you in on a little somethin’ somethin’: I basically new that secret epic magic was embedded deep in their souls when I met them for their engagement photos in the Spring in Rocky Mountain National Park and we had the entire place to ourselves on a weekend. Granted, it was a thunder-snowy mess but it was the most incredible thunder-snowy mess that ever existed and they fully embraced it + none of us died driving home in it so that’s always an added bonus.
Their wedding took place on the most perfectly perfect day in late September at The Pines at Genesee in Golden, Colorado. They got married at the upper ceremony site under the market lights and just about everyone had tears in their eyes before Melissa and her father were walking down the aisle. It’s my most favorite thing in the world when I look at the guests and I see them all truly present in the moment and watching + supporting the couple in their new venture instead of trying to grab a shot on their cell phone / iPad / point and shoot / whatever and that’s exactly what took place on Melissa and Keith’s wedding day – it was the absolute best.
One of my favorite touches during their ceremony was that Melissa and Keith each wrote each other letters and sealed them in to a box of wine that they can open later on during their marriage to remind each other of how they felt when they were dating + on the day they got to marry each other! The rest of the day, as you can imagine, was just as amazing as the first part. We frolicked through the forest together for portraits, ate some delicious mexican food, danced the night away and ended the evening with some after-dark portraits under the market lights! Best! Best! Best!
