Lindsey and Alberto had a stunning intimate wedding at The Butterfly Pavilion in Westminster Colorado and it was dreamy beyond words. They decided to forego the ‘traditional’ wedding reception and do something to make the day truly special to them and their story (I absolutely love when couples put their own twist on their wedding day) and meet back up with their family and friends later that night at La Rumba, the dance club in Denver where they very first met.
You see, Lindsey and Alberto have one of those love stories that give you goosebumps. The can’t speak, goosebump inducing, makes you want to shed a few tears kind of love stories. If you haven’t already guessed it – they met at La Rumba dance club in Denver. Now, this is a place that both Lindsey and Alberto had frequented prior, but their paths hadn’t ever crossed until one special April night. Neither of them suspected that that night would be the night they met their future life partner. Lindsey was just out with her friends, when a handsome man that was just out having some fun dancing asked her to dance to a song. Their chemistry was so strong and the spark was so immediate that they ended up dancing to at least 5 other songs . ranging from Cumbia, Bachata, Merengue, Reggaeton and more. Lindsey and Alberto had a slight language barrier, but it didn’t even matter because the chemistry was so real and dancing became their love language. The night ended and Lindsey and Alberto parted ways, but they both knew in their hearts that they had just met someone special. With the help of her friend, Laura, Lindsey had taken the time to learn how to ask someone to dance, in Spanish, and then she headed back to La Rumba in search of this man that had made such an impression on her heart. The first weekend she went she didn’t see him, but that didn’t stop her from going back the following weekend! Sure enough, the next time she went Alberto was there. Again, they shared a few dances together and their chemistry was just as strong as the night they had met, maybe even stronger. They finally exchanged phone numbers and their love story continued.
With the help of online translators and a strong will to get to know each other their relationship grew and developed. The real test of friendship and love, though, was when Alberto got to meet Lindsey’s dogs a month later and they didn’t even eat him – that’s a true sign of a keeper right there! Eventually, they became boyfriend and girlfriend and they quickly knew they had met their person, the person they wanted to spend the rest of their life with. This was evident on their wedding day in such a big way. I can’t help but tear up when I look at the photos of the way they look at each other during the ceremony, and Alberto’s emotions when Lindsey shared her vows with him. It was a day filled with truly beautiful and emotional moments. Oh, and it only made sense that dancing would be incorporated in to their wedding day in such a big way! After their intimate wedding at The Butterfly Pavilion they took a break and headed back to the place where it all began, La Rumba. They drank, sang, danced and partied in to the night with their family and friends and then, with the dance floor all to themselves, they shared their first dance as husband and wife at La Rumba – with chemistry as fierce as it was the night they met.
