Azra and Anel’s Boulder Colorado Elopement at Artist Point on Flagstaff Mountain with Wedding Photos at Lost Gulch.
On Sunday June the 2nd Azra and Anel excitedly hiked in to Artist Point in Boulder Colorado for their intimate elopement. It was an absolute dream. The skies were sunny, but a small storm rolled through during the middle of their ceremony so while they were exchanging vows there was a sun shower and because the monarch butterflies are currently migrating as soon as the rain drops started falling the butterflies kicked up and started flying around the two of them. My literal, actual soul had goosebumps, you guys. It was one of the most incredible things I have ever witnessed and photographed.
As it turns out, butterflies actually have a significance in Azra and Anel’s relationship so it made it extra special that they showed up in such a big way during their Boulder elopement on Flagstaff mountain!
During their small wedding ceremony, officiated by Lisa Hunter with Ceremonies with Lisa, the bride and groom performed a sand ceremony where they each poured a different color of sand in to a see-through picture frame to symbolize their lives merging together and becoming one.
Speaking of lives merging together I’d like to take it back a little bit and share a little glimpse in to their relationship before I share a little glimpse in to their adventure elopement at Artist Point. These two beautiful human beings were actually brought to each others attention a few years ago by a mutual friend. They had hundreds of miles between them, but started talking on the phone constantly and eventually their friendship grew in to a relationship which grew in to a love story. After months went by they ended up coming together and meeting for the first time at Denver International Airport, a Colorado elopement was a must have. Eventually, Azra relocated from the East Coast to Las Vegas Nevada with Anel and they started building their lives together. It only made sense for them to return to the state where they got to meet for the first time for their beautiful Springtime Nupitals.
After their intimate wedding ceremony we headed a few miles farther up Flagstaff Mountain and these two adventurous hearts effortlessly sauntered across the edge of the mountain top as the sun went down and I was able to take some gorgeous golden hour bride and groom photos!
To conclude their wedding day / elopement day Azra and Anel chose a symbol, a diamond, that they tucked in to a small pouch together before ceremonially stepped over the threshold of becoming no longer boyfriend and girlfriend, but husband and wife. They lifted their hands up and cheered with the Rocky Mountains as their witness. It was absolutely amazing!
