Spring Wedding at Boulder Creek by Wedgewood Weddings | Meag + John

I have had the honor of photographing many weddings at Boulder Creek by Wedgewood Weddings over the past decade, but Meag and John’s wedding day will forever be one of my favorites for so many reasons. I’ve been friends with Meag since high school and had her on the other side of my camera for the first time all the way back in 2008. It’s always such an honor when someone I know (and someone I have photographed since the beginning) chooses and trusts me to document these milestone life moments. It has been so beautiful watching her meet John and build such an amazing relationship with him.

It was fitting that a wedding day with some of my favorite humans was filled with some of my favorite moments too. Between the unity cocktail they shared during the ceremony, their fun crew of bridesmaids and groomsmen, their romantic “Notebook moment” creekside portraits, all of the heartfelt and emotive toasts from their guests, their custom Animal Crossing cake topper and donut wall, the epic dance moves that filled dance floor all night and their cold sparkler send-off it’s obviously impossible to pick just *one* favorite moment. Thank goodness for photos to show off all the goodness that happened :’)!

Before you scroll to their wedding photos, here is a fun little inside look at the story of The Doolittles from the bride and groom:

The Meet-Cute:
We met in high school through mutual friends! We never dated in high school but re-connected nearly four years after graduation at a Halloween party. Meag’s sister Madison had done some wing-manning beforehand for John, who was interested first. John was dressed as Rick from Rick and Morty, and Meag was dressed as the classic book character, Waldo. Found her! (LOL). We left the party together and cultivated this lasting and loving relationship.

The Proposal:
We got engaged on our fourth Halloween anniversary! John and Meag planned for a night out at a fun murder mystery dinner together, and little did Meag know, John worked with the venue and actors to work the proposal in. After giving John the role of the “rookie questionnaire cop”, the venue actors asked John&Meag to stand up and practice interrogating each other, because “an interrogation is simply asking a question.” John got down on one knee and asked Meag to spend the rest of her life with him!

Their Favorite Things:
John’s favorite thing about Meag is her humor. Humor is a staple in our relationship and the ability to have fun and laugh together is priceless.
Meag’s favorite thing about John is his patience and kindness. John has a big heart and always encourages Meag to do her best. Meag also loves how much John and she can just be dorks together.
